# Codex Pets terms

## Free community registry

Codex Pets is a free community registry. Public read endpoints and the public
read-only MCP server expose approved pet data without authentication, paid plans,
or SLA. There is no SLA for public APIs or MCP tools.

## Public agent access

Agents may search approved pets, fetch approved pet metadata, inspect the public
manifest, and generate install or share snippets. Agents must not use public
surfaces for account creation, private request inspection, moderation, deletes,
downloads, likes, or metric mutations.

## Moderated submissions

Submitted and requested pets are moderated. The service may reject submissions,
edit public metadata, hide records, or mark records deleted.

## Versioning and deprecation

Current unversioned public endpoints are stable v1. Additive response fields and
new routes may be added without notice. Breaking public-agent contract changes
require a new path or a published deprecation notice.
